After twelve months of hard work, we’re almost there!
Over the past twelve months our Reaching Out team has been working hard to raise awareness, money and aid for orphans living in Việt Nam. The total we have raised to date is a staggering £6,687.42! So a massive thank you to everyone who has supported Reaching Out, your support will make a world of difference to children living in poverty and with disabilities in Vietnam. Due to you generosity we have already been able to fund the following projects in Vietnam:-
Volunteer Care Packs
Each Reaching Out volunteer traveling to Vietnam will be taking a care pack to help the younger children at the orphanages, consisting of large tubs of Sudocrem and Chewable Vitamins.
Aid Supply (Nha Trang)
We have been able to fund the supply and delivery of much needed Milk, Rice and Christmas Toys for the children at the Buddhist Orphanage in Nha Trang for some 100 children.
Christmas Gift Drop
All children deserve gifts at christmas, so we’re proud to say that we have been able to fund the gift drops over 350 children at orphanages and peace villages in Thanh Xuan (Hanoi), Nha Trang, Go Vap (Saigon) and Tu Du.
Sewing Equipment
We are able to fund a project to purchase sewing equipment which can be used to help teach skills and make their own cloths etc.
Aid Supply (Da Nang)
We are helping to provide Milk and Toys for Children at the orphanages in Da Nang
Christmas Gifts
We are happy to help Company of Grace who are working with children with special needs in Ho Chi Minh City
These are just some projects we as pleased that the money we have raised can go towards, but there are more projects which we hope to fund too!
Vietnam Mission

On Saturday, 13th August 2011 Reaching Out joined a team of Mountain Bike Riders to undertake the challenge of riding 40 kilometres across the Welsh Mountains between Llanwonno and Rhigos in gruelling weather conditions.
As well as battling the harsh weather elements and rough terrain, the Challenge tested each riders endurance, riding abilities and determination to see the challenge through to the end!
We are pleased to announce that over £1000 was pledged in sponsorship to the team of riders undertaking the challenge – so a big thanks to everyone who supported the Challenge and to the riders taking part!
You can view the Challenge route at http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1215912
Reaching Out is a project set up by a group of volunteers to help raise aid, money and awareness of orphans in desperate need living in Vietnam. Visit the official website at http://www.projectreturnii.com/reachingout for more information.
Not being ones to shy away from a challenge, our fearless Reaching Out team will be embarking on a perilous bike ride across the Welsh Mountains from Llanwonno to Rhigos for a 40km ride on Saturday, 13th August.
Leading the ride is none other than Lê ‘Flies Through The Air’ Thanh who will join a team of riders of mixed riding ability to take on the challenge of the rough terrain and dizzy heights of the Welsh mountains. We have approximately a dozen riders who have agreed to the challenge and will be raising sponsorship for their bravery and undoubtedly ‘numb-bums’ to come…
